Hello, I’m Melanie and I started the Melanie Riley Peebles Massage Clinic in 2014.
I am a fully qualified sports and remedial massage therapist with a diploma in Swedish therapeutic massage. I trained with the Scottish Massage Schools and I’m a member of the Scottish Massage Therapist Organisation.
My Peebles Massage Clinic is based in Pennels Close on the High Street. However you can often find me at various sporting events such as Tweedlove giving treatments to competitors throughout the Scottish Borders and sometimes further afield.
I originally studied Applied Human Nutrition at Queen Margaret University where I received an honours degree. I became interested in massage therapy when I was training for my first marathon. I would never have managed it without therapeutic massage to help me prevent injuries and relieve my many aches and pains!
My clinic is kept busy with a wide range and variety of clients. These include cyclists, swimmers, tennis players, triathletes, and being a runner myself, some runners from clubs including Peebles Moorfoots, Penicuik Harriers and Galashiels Harriers.
However, it’s not just sport mad people that I help. Gardeners, child minders, office workers who sit at desks all day, brick layers and plasterers, dancers and a whole variety of people whose everyday lives are made easier with a massage now and again.
Our bodies are held together with muscles and ligaments. Apart from injuries, sometimes tension builds up in the muscles and can be released with therapeutic massage techniques; which has the extra benefit of releasing toxins and improving circulation in the affected area.

Appointments usually last 45 minutes to an hour, but I will fit your treatment around your availability. If you have half an hour, I can make a difference.
